Early one misty morning Mother came out as usual to check that we were all O.K.
Everyone was fine but Lucy was missing. I was asked if I knew where she was? I said. "I hadn't a clue" Then I eventually spotted her down the bottom of he field. Mum called her but she didn't want to come. so she said to me. "Come on Bubbles, lets go and see if she's alright." When we got down there she was looking very worried.

Mum examined her and realized that she was about to have her baby so she said. "Come on darling lets take you in to have it in a nice warm cosy stable." Mum was very calm but I was so excited because I'd never seen a foal being born before. I rushed up to tell the others, who were equally as excited as I was and they all cantered down to have a look and Ben who was the Father was in the next door field was also excited

Mum was furious with me for going to get them and told them all to go away and let Lucy Lollipop have her baby quietly on her own and that was me included!

  It was some time before the foal arrived poor Lucy was pushing and pushing but nothing was happening. The little foals head and front feet were out but she just couldn't push the rest of it out.

Mum tried to pull it and so did Dad but neither could move it so Mum rushed next door find Matthew and Adam who are the farmers sons to see if they could help but they were busy trying to bring a lamb and a calf into the world.

Ten minutes later all three made their appearance into the world at the same time.

Lucy’s friend Sasha had a colt just two days before Mia was born, he is called Jake, and the two of them soon made friends together and were playing “Oranges and Lemons” with their Mums.

Oranges and lemons say the bells of St. Clements
