The Very Beginning

***  Told by Bubbles  ***

I was the first pony to come and live at the Farm. Dad spotted me
galloping around a field near by and thought I looked rather cute.

He knew Mum wanted
a miniature pony so
as her Birthday was
coming up he thought
that there’d be nothing
she’d like more for
a present than …

Me strutting my stuff

The prettiest little
 pony in the world
 … which of course,
 is ME!
The lady come out
of her house to see
 what Dad wanted.

He said, “I just wondered if the little pony in the field is for sale?”
She replied, “He could be if the price is right.

I’m...

so, so...

excited!

Me and my proud mother

“Poor old Dad had to go home and raid the piggy bank! There was just about enough money in there, with a couple of pounds to spare, so he put it all into a bag and trundled back up the lane.

The lady  wouldn't let Dad have me, until she made sure that every single penny was there then, she put a head collar on me and said. Take him he's all yours.”

Here. He's all yours

An hour later he arrived back home with me in toe. Mum came out and looked at us both in utter amazement and said. “Simon what on earth are you doing with that adorable little pony? And where did you find it?”. He said. “I’ve bought him for you for your birthday Margaret.” Mum burst into tears and gave him a big hug and said, “Thank you so much darling” then she gave me my first of many cuddles to come. Mum decided to call me Bubbles.

Princess just before Fairytale was born

Fairytale was the next pony to come and live at the farm, after me.

She arrived quite by accident! Her Mother, who is called Fairy Princess, came to stay with us for six months while, Jacky her owner, went to stay with her son in Australia.

A week later, on a beautiful spring morning Mum came out to check us to make sure we were both O.K. and to her utter amazement could see what looked like a fox sitting beside  Princess but as she got closer realised that it wasn’t a fox, but a little chestnut foal.

Fairy Princess & Fairytale

When Jacky rang the following evening from Australia to check that her little precious was all right, she was speechless when Dad told her the news. She said that, “she honestly had no idea that she was in foal because she hadn’t been out with a stallion, but then she suddenly thought!

Mother & Daughter

Princess saw her coming and quickly stood up and proudly showed off her baby. It was a little filly.

Charlie, Fairytale's Father

It must have been that cheeky little Charlie who lives down the road. He’s very good at jumping and must have leapt over the fence to get out of his field to go and have some romance with Fairy Princess and then jumped back again, hoping that no one would know what he’d done or where he’d been.”

Jacky very kindly said that they could keep baby, but of course she would like Mum back when she returned home from Australia.

Mum decided to call the little filly Fairytale - partly after her mother and partly because: The story was a fairytale. And so my home became known as... Fairytale Pony Farm.
